So how do these M500's compare to an A7-500 or a Model 19?
Should I be on a new quest for the Holy Grail?

BFISH (we fish for tuna out here on the south portion of the left coast!!)
Appreciate the info on M500s, I did buy these components on epay a while back,unfortunately the seller did not know how to pack the 3154s and both will require reconing (they were STACKED loosely on top of each other in a single box!) Anyway,it will give my dad a chance to get to work and recone them. I have other NOS 3154s from Bill, just trying to get these together to complete another altec system. I will probably hang on to these rather than sell them. I have the external dimensions from the catalogue as well, but not the baffle board/port dimensions. If you have those dimensions, it would be extremely helpful if you would post them (or you could just send me the empty m500 cabs!) Thanks again, Curt in LA

Curt,
Too bad about your 3154s, the seller's obviously weren't too sharp ITR...they were very nice guys though, and took me for a night on the town, where I heard a couple of good blues bands....they did think anyone that would drive there clear from Arkansas to save $50 frt., and get some free cabs and flyware must be a little touched.....don't think I disappointed them ITR....after hearing your story, I'm glad I went. FYI, the speakers originally came from a St Cloud ice arena.
It'll be a couple days, but I'll post the baffle layout for you.

There's a brief listing of the M500 in the '93 Pro catalog on the LH site, cab dims are on this page;

I'll post the baffle layout and duct lengths ASAP.

Correction to my earlier post--the M500 actually has 4 ports instead of 2.
I'll post the M500 dimensions in a new thread.
Ron, sorry to have hijacked your thread, it started out somewhat-related, but strayed, as usual. Congrats on the new horns!
Brad
